Lisa Weltsch, Owner and Founder Street Studio Dance & Fitness, LLC
As a long-time professional dancer and the owner and creative director of Communigraphix, Lisa brings her 20-year experience running a design and marketing company to the branding and marketing of Street Studio.
With extensive experience in retail store marketing support, Lisa is the creative force behind the look and vibe of the studio. She brings her vision to life with a retro feel in the graphics and brand of Street Studio, as it is a reflection of her own personal history as a professional dancer in the 1980s.
“The look and feel of the period in which I danced professionally was the creative spark behind my vision of the studio. I wanted recapture the essence of what I loved about dance then, and still love today. Then, the spirit of dance moved me to study the discipline and artistry, and to develop a craft. Today, I just want to have fun. And that’s what I hope to share with our members, and through my amazing teachers and unique experience at Street Studio.”
A native of Los Angeles California, Lisa relocated to San Francisco and danced professionally during her years while at design school throughout the 1980s. Her dance studies continued while traveling to major cities, including New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles. Lisa taught jazz and modern dance in SF, and was a company member with The Ed Mock Dance Company. Other performances included appearances in MTV music videos and commercials with then-choreographer Mari Winsor of Winsor Pilates. Lisa’s experience in dance/fitness instruction began as an Aerobic-Dance teacher for nearly 10 years for Rhythm & Motion Studios in San Francisco, a dance-fitness workout taught exclusively by professional dancers. R&M is still going strong today nearly 30 years later.
“I always knew I would open a dance studio. It just took 25 years. I needed more business experience, and after running Communigraphix for 20 years and raising my two boys, I felt the time was right and I was ready. As a designer, I love the process of creative problem solving for my clients, and am really looking forward to the new challenges and incredible opportunities that lay ahead. I’m at a new phase in my life and am very much looking forward to creating a new path. Dance and fitness has always been a huge part of my life, and as my own circle of friends expanded and included more and more dance and fitness enthusiasts and teachers, my vision of Street Studio was born. I now I feel like I’ve come full-circle, and am so excited to share the fun and sprit of dance to all that come into the studio.”
Living in Roswell, GA for more than 20 years, Lisa finds inspiration every day through her family, which includes husband and business advisor, Ken, two sons, Jake and Mason, and two step-daughters, Kristine and Brittany.
